I was dx w/ASM at the end of October 2009. I had a blood patch done which helped me be able to sit up without insane pressure. I still have symptoms of pressure at the top of my head when I sneeze, cough, laugh or lean forward or backward. Neurologist suggests another blood patch. Today is 1/5/10.

This works like a charm. Two days after my spinal tap I still had an unbearable headache. I had the blood patch done in the ER and had immediate relief. It's not as painless as this article would have you believe, but definitely worth it.

The blood patch worked like an instance miracle. One day after my epidural I started getting severe headaches and a day after that vommitting. It was unbearable. I was still in the hospital and was debating about the blood patch. But the pain was so severe, I had no option but to get a blood patch. The Chief of Anesthelogist in the hospital did my patch and within five minutes my headache went away. What a miracle!
