Ron M. Walls, MD, FRCPC, FACEP, FAAEM, Editor-in-Chief
Dr. Walls has conducted extensive clinical research on emergency airway management and emergency cardiology. Dr. Baren's research interests focus on acute asthma and health services delivery and access to care for asthma patients. She is the principal investigator in a series of multicenter and local trials examining strategies to improve the rate of primary care follow-up after an emergency department visit. Dr. Baren is currently completing a Master of Bioethics degree and is also conducting research on informed consent in emergency medicine research. She is the emergency department liaison and an attending physician at The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia. Dr. Christenson's research focuses on cardiac arrest and acute coronary syndromes. He has participated in trials of antidysrhythmic agents and antithrombotic therapy for acute coronary syndromes and is currently evaluating a destination policy for patients with ST-segment-elevation myocardial infarction diagnosed in the field. He played a major role in randomized trials investigating fibrinolysis, aminophylline, and public access defibrillation for cardiac arrest, and is currently studying biphasic energy levels and a cardiac compression device.
